I am the second grade teacher at New Hope School. I teach
Spelling, Reading, Writing, Grammar, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health, Handwriting, Art, and Computer Skills. This will
be my 35th year of teaching.
In second grade we learn about cursive writing, borrowing, carrying, telling time
to 5 minutes, and counting money. We practice our math facts, so that we will earn a hamburger and a trip to McDonald's!
We read longer books and early chapter books. We enjoy Accelerated Reader and the Pizza Hut! reading program.
We learn computer skills by researching the internet, completing webquests, practicing skills, and creating projects.
We study famous artists. We learn about dinosaurs, plants, space, weather, presidents, and Native Americans.
My
husband and I have two married daughters,two son-in-laws, and a grandson. I enjoy swimming, reading, gardening,
music, and spending time with family and friends. I am blessed to work with the students, parents, and staff at New
Hope School.
